  Aground Deluxe Edition Soundtrack by Chase Bethea ├» ╗ ┐Now Available

SEATTLE - NOVEMBER 20, 2020 - Materia Collective is excited to release the Aground Original Game Soundtrack Deluxe Edition featuring music by composer Chase Bethea. The deluxe edition includes the entire Aground soundtrack along with seven additional tracks never heard before, two tracks from Deity Quest, and three pieces of piano sheet music transcribed by Materia Collective's David Peacock. Aground's music covers a spectrum of rhythms and genres, using funky time signatures, psychedelic synths, chiptune elements, and guitars. The Aground Original Game Soundtrack Deluxe Edition is now available on all storefronts and streaming platforms:

"Aground features an amalgamation of styles and a hybrid signature sound that is undeniably unique and inimitable," comments composer Chase Bethea. "It feels like every track had some new sound or idea that kept up the interest over a Very. Long. Running. Time. I am proud that the community, who I called the 'Agroundians,' recognize what I was trying to bring to the music for the game."



About Chase Bethea


Chase Bethea is a freelance composer/technical audio designer for videogames and a variety of other media. He earned his AA in audio engineering from Los Angeles Recording School, his AA in music theory and composition from Moorpark College, and his BM in media composition from California State Northridge.

Chase has received many accolades throughout his career including the Best Music in Motion Graphic and Poetry Award in 2010. In 2013, Chase’s score from the successful flash horror game, I Can’t Escape (developed by Fancy Fish Games), received an honorable mention in the Indie Game Magazine. His second soundtrack for the game Cubic Climber earned a Noteworthy on In 2016, Chase was nominated for Artists of the Year – Independent Composer by Videogame Music Online (VGMO). Chase also signed publishing deals with Sumthing Else Music Works and Materia Collective. His music has been featured on multiple podcasts such as Pixelated Audio, Video Game Island, 8bitx Radio and streamed on Spotify, Pandora, Deezer and many more.

When Chase isn’t busy working on projects he enjoys watching anime and cruising up to Ventura to hike. He also loves refurbishing games and fixing retro game consoles.
