The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences announced today that nineteen new pieces of video game artwork will be featured in its Into The Pixel traveling art exhibition this year.

The pieces were individually submitted after the Academy called for submissions in March. As usual, the exhibit will be viewable at the Los Angeles Convention Center during E3 later this month before traveling on to PAX Prime, SXSW, and the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas.

“This year's Into the Pixel Collection represents one of the most diverse sets of artwork ever selected by the jury, including works that are bursting with drama and energy, as well as those that are thoughtful, contemplative and still,” stated Glenn Phillips, acting head of the Getty Research Institute's Department of Architecture and Contemporary Art, in a press release announcing the selected pieces.

Phillips was a member of the seven-person jury that decided which submitted works would be included in this year's collection, which includes work from artists like Sucker Punch Productions' Susan Lao (inFamous: Second Son), Vlambeer's Junkboy (Luftrausers), Nyamnyam's Ryo Agarie (Tengami), Valve's Quentin Smith (Dota 2) and more.
